The Mt St Helens Memorial Ride is a motorcycle ride that takes place annually to honor the 57 people who died in the 1980 eruption of Mount St. Helens. The ride follows a scenic route, Washington State Road 504 (also known as the Spirit Lake Memorial Highway), which is a 52-mile journey that passes through the volcanic blast zone.
The ride begins at the Gateway Food & Fuel and travels up towards the mountain each year.
The memorial ride is not just a ride; it’s a tribute to the victims of the eruption and a chance to reflect on the devastating event and the area’s recovery. It also highlights the unique and powerful landscape of the area.
